On a night that the Liberal party walked over the NDP and PC in the NS election, Sackville Blazers squeeked past the Brookfield Elks 2-1.
On a night that the Liberal party walked over the NDP and PC in the NS election, Sackville Blazers squeeked past the Brookfield Elks 2-1.
The Blazers held a 1-0 first period lead on a goal by Ryan Davis with assist going to Adam Brown. The Blazers outshot the Elks 14-8 in the period with Spencer Scott holding the score close with some timely big time saves.
Both Goaltenders shut the door in the second with the Elks outshooting the Blazers 13-11.
Mid-way through the third, Brett Arthur put the visitors up 2-0 on a power play goal, assists going to brother Matt and Scott Stone. The Elks pressed the rest of the frame, but could only manage a late goal by Elks captain Lucas Dawe from Zach Coates to break Alex Reynolds shuout bid. Final shots were 37 -37
