Elks fall to Scotians
2013-10-15The Pictou Scotians get revenge on the Brookfield Elks in the second half of home and home.
The Pictou Scotians defeated the Elks 4-2 Tuesday night to even up the home and home series.
It took two periods before either team could solve the netminders, Ben Goss and Spencer Scott. The Scotians held a shot advantage of 31 to 25 through two periods.
Brandon Verge with two and Craig Matheson on the Powerplay spotted the Scotians to a 3 goal lead mid way through the third. Lucas Dawe potted the first Elks goal on the PP with Scott on the bench for the extra attacker, assists going to Zed Bates and Kaden Augustine. One minute later the Elks cut the lead to one when Leon Knockwood knocked in his sixth of the year from Ryan Ingraham and Bates.
The comeback fell short as Americo Pino scored on the empty cage to complete the score. Final 4-2 Scotians. Final shots 46- 40 in favour of the visitors
